What if
I catch a trophy fish?
All fishing tackle
is provided and we prefer that you leave your tackle at home. We generally
rig the tackle prior to your trip and the boat is set-up specifically for
the species we will encounter on your trip. If you insist on bring your gear,
we will not be held liable for any loss or damage to your equipment.
Can I
bring my fishing tackle?
Does the
boat have bathroom facilities?
Well, despite
how you may feel it's not the end of the world. Even the best of us have gotten
sick at some point and time. Your not alone. The best thing to do is stay
in the fresh air and look at the horizon. If that doesn't help, and you feel
like you will get sick then it is probably the best to go ahead as you will
feel dramatically better afterwards. Drinking ginger ale will also help to
settle an upset stomach. If nothing seems to work, we will gladly bring you
back at any time. This is your trip and you make the call. We want you to
have a good time.
Yes. The boat
has bathroom facilities for your convenience.
What happens
if I get sea sick?
There is no 100%
cure for sea sickness. Some people are naturally more prone to sea sickness
than others. I suggest that you take a motion sickness remedy the evening
prior to your fishing trip and eat a light breakfast the morning of the trip.
I have found through experience that Transdermscope, a patch you wear behind
the ear, works best and will not make you drowsy. Be sure to call your doctor
prior to leaving home, as this is a prescription product. It generally does
not require an office visit to get a prescription and your doctor can call
it in to your local drug store.
If you are interested
in keeping fish to eat, we will gladly clean your catch within reasonable
limits. If you are planning on filling the freezer, a cleaning charge will
apply. Please consult with the Captain about any additional cleaning charges.
How do
I prevent sea sickness?
If
you have any questions we haven't answered feel free to
contact us, we
will gladly answer all questions.
Congratulations
are in order! If you wish to preserve that memory we can offer quality fiberglass
release mount of your catch from Gray's
taxidermy. As an authorized agent for Gray's Taxidermy, we can
assist in handling all the details. If you plan on mounting your catch please
notify the crew so we can get accurate measurements and pictures prior to
releasing the fish.
Whatever you
catch during the trip belongs to you. We encourage you to take only what you
intend to eat and release the rest unharmed to fight another day. We encourage
catch and release, and require that all billfish be released.
Who do
the fish belong to?
Yes. Children
are welcome on the boat. . Please be sure to bring a properly sized life jacket
(vest style) for your child as our life jackets are sized for adults. We recommend
1/2 day trips for most small children . Older children can generally handle
3/4 day trips or longer. It is your discretion as to whether you think a child
is suitable for offshore fishing. We do not advise taking children on bluefin
tuna fishing trips unless they are experienced anglers. Fishing for bluefin
tuna trips is hard core winter fishing. The weather can be cold with choppy
sea conditions.
That depends
on your comfort level while on the ocean. If your unsure, a first-timer, or
introducing children to offshore fishing, and want a chance to catch a decent
fish, then start with a 1/2 day. If your moderately comfortable at sea and
want to catch trophy fish, then we suggest taking 3/4 day or full day trip.
If you have no problems, then go full day or gulf stream.
If your trip
is cancelled due to bad weather, you will be given the opportunity to reschedule
for an available date or you may receive a full (100%) refund.
What if
the trip is cancelled due to bad weather?
Miss Ann Sportfishing
is dedicated to offering the best possible fishing experience. If weather
conditions are unsafe or not conducive to offering a good opportunity to catch
fish, the Captain reserves the right to cancel the trip. Your safety comes
first. We will always thoroughly explain the fishing conditions (weather)
with the party and leave it up to the party to decide if they would feel comfortable
fishing that day.
What if
the weather is bad?
You are responsible
for bringing your own personal items such as food and drinks (and a small
cooler to put them in), hats, sunscreen, non-skid deck shoes (no black soles)
and cameras. We suggest that you dress in layers in accordance with the time
of year. Foul weather gear and windbreakers are also strongly suggested especially
during fall and winter months. All fishing equipment and related tackle will
be provided.
What should I bring?
